Carbon Footprint Measurement
A carbon footprint is defined as the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions caused by an organization, event, product or person.
Such environmental impact is measured by undertaking a GHG emissions inventory analysis or life cycle (from procurement of raw materials to management as waste of a product) in accordance with recognized international standards.
The carbon footprint is measured in volume of CO2 equivalent. Once you know the size of the footprint, it is possible to implement an offset strategy and / or reduce emissions through various programs.
